By Rajani Kanth
[for my daughters]
In face of
Impending
Doom
And stray
Elephants
In the room
Let us
Resolve
To stay
Unswayed,
By light
Of day –
*
Banish
incumbent
Fear –
Cling
To what
Is dear
Uphold
Convenancing
Norms
Despite
The Pillage
Of Storms
In Faith
Of Healing
Light
Dispel
The Spreading
Blight
*
Countenancing
Calm
Defy the
Spating
harm
In sympathetic
Mode
draw
that mother
Lode
Of anthropic
Empathy –
and
Consilient
Amity
*
Avowing,
Do Good
By Stealth
raising
That Moral
Health
True source
Of all our
Wealth
*
Forswearing
meum
And teum
the Hubris
That swells
too soon
that does
all Nature
Impugn
*
though
Unguided,
Lorn
From
Primal moorings
shorn –
from love
and life
though torn
yet may
we
adorn
in humble
Trance
of Good
a universe,
cold,
forlorn
*
Know
All things
must suffer
change
Save the
Supervening
sky
whereunder
we live –
but to die
upon this
ruminatng
earth
where we
chart
an Unmindful
Birth
*
Into the Abyss
Of Night
Must we ,
Steadfast,
Go
Leaving
behind
In trust
Least one
heart that
will overflow
that can
and will
and must
fulsome
thrill and
throb
even the
mantling
dust –
that muffles
our mortal
glow
*
in wakeful
Reverie
long after
we are
gone –
in ambrosial
memory
unforgetting,
still,
live on
above
pity
or scorn
in that
breathless,
Eternal
Dawn
