Labor Day?

They that labor
fruitlessly
sleep low upon the
street

whilst they that labor
very least
batten high upon
the feast

*

Who invented
a ‘labor day’
mock that
underclass

who know not
any holiday
huddled neath
the underpass

*

All social life
is paradox
most edicts
a lie

it is how the Unjust
keep the peace
so we never
question why
