Mystery
We might
wait watch
and wonder
when the world
weighs
too weary
forage
in the
forest
walk darkling
woods
alone
*
There’s relish
in the
pathless
gratuity
in the
moors
solace in
the hillside
bare
rapture
in the
mists
*
The Invisible
hides
its visage
from
temples
and our
towers
but makes
itself
apparent
within those
derelict
bowers
*
We have wrought
such
prisons
as
incarcerate
the soul
enchain the
living
spirit
splintering
the
whole
*
In
raw terrors
of nature
in her fury
fire and
wake
stars
erupt
exploding
galaxies
shudder
and quake
*
In
superambient
universe
we’re less than
specks of
dust
nature
hugs
her secrets
mystery
broods upon
her crust
*
When knowing
is nigh
impossible
were it not
simpler whence
to trust?
I ask
if we may
I do not say
we must
