Myths

There is no
revealed
providence

no
redeemer
abides above

no
holy men
women or
books

only
human hate
and love

*

So elide
the hocus pocus
and eschew
the mumbo jumbo

godhead is to
be guessed at
but not really
to know

*

Tangible
Effects

presuppose
a Cause

that much
is all we
know

Nature
obeys
unbending laws

it’s easy
enough
to show

*

Beyond that
naught is
really known

though billions
have come
and gone

so stoop not
to make
believe

vamping myths
as to
the manner born

*
A lie is a lie
is a lie
is a lie

brainwash
can’t make it
true

you may
entice but
the weak of
mind

for they
rank many
not a few

*

If you must
glean
the mind of
god

science
is our only
way

all else is
ignis fatuus
fraud

we are too
easy
led astray

*

Myths exist
to keep us
down

by those who
rule the
day

women and
the
impuissant

are thus bent
to their
sordid sway

*

So skip the
bunk
serve your fellow
wo(man)

do good
wherever
you can

cherish all
given forms of
life

and except
within
your secret
heart

presume
not
god to scan
