Noblesse

Live ever in beauty
seek only the truth
being ever so mindful
of right and of ruth

there is no redemption
nor any primal sin
just a barren wasteland
we all wander in

earth vapidly spins on
we come and we go
no one has any clue
though some claim they know

cook up any tale you wish
spin any yarns you can
still we flounder haplessly
this lorn family of (wo)Man

we ‘re our own Creationists
scribe the story as we may
gods or demons as per choice
from dusk to dogged day

but when our little race is run
and all our liturgies are done
we slump like any other beast
to rot beneath the sun

*

Live ever in beauty
seeking but the truth
be ever so mindful
of right and of ruth

Choice is ours to make
no Auditor waits ahead
Opting to be Exemplary
if only to wake up dead

It’s the only way to show
though it may seem rather odd
that we , the reft, on any day
may be nobler than ‘god’?
