Let us sing
love songs
whilst they
go make war

we may get
nowhere
but will they
get far?

this world
is for lovers
what else
is there?

and though
doom still
close hovers
we shall not beware

And whilst missiles
will fly
and innocents still
die

we shall
be unmoved
we will not
give cry

perchance as
they kill
a few may
cavil?

cross over
and join
their orders
defy

though we may
all sink
in less than
a blink

history
won’t say
that no one
did try

So let us sing
love songs
whilst they
go make war

for we’re not
warriors
but lovers
by far
