The Governors
Faith, the Regents never know
when their knickers are on fire
for the emperor loves his togs
indeed his boudoir entire
All besotted with The Prize
is that mad werewolf – desire!
for more, more – and ever, more!
omnisplendent attire
Upto the gills with rank
recidivistic wine
they dirty dance
the tremulous plank
into cataracts of brine
They vouchsafe to rule us
they who care to fool us
thinking they can school us
shall eftsoons repine
The writing on the wall
they heed not its design
The mills may grind slowly
but oh ever so fine
The tawdry Empire never tires
despite expurgating fires
though the rot has gutted
through and through
from drawbridge to the spires
