The Last Huzzah

They that
threat
the world

Made War
birthright
nay second nature

Debauched
women toilers
native peoples
the weak
the impuissant

And passions
yet Unfed
ravished All
Life

Even Nature
herself

And in
these latter
days

Still hungry
seek more worlds
to raze

Now did they
go
Too Far

So is this
Their
Last Huzzah

*
The Poet* has
writ
The gory glories
of blood and
state
are ephemera

Be not dismayed

The Levellers
level
sceptre and
crown

To rest with
the humble
scythe and
spade

*

Justice and Time
Old Comrades
meet in tryst
to tame tyranny

They may
come
Late

But art
remorseless
like Fate

Set your clock
watch it
Unfold

And let The
Story
be ever told

A New World
bids farvel
to the Old
