The Beast
By Rajani Kanth
Scatter
not pearls
Into
Thin air –
They will
fall,
Or
flounder
Some
here,
Some there –
Though
traces
abound
O
Everywhere –
the swine
Who crunch
Them
chomp,
unaware
chewing
glass
pebbles
With
Same placid
air
*
Theirs the
Kingdom
Theirs,
The Time
The Porcine
Era
Of High
grot
And grime
*
They
plumb
The dark
depths
They
soar to
the top –
Heil,
Porkers
Ebullient!
cream
Of the crop!
*
They swing
High the
Sceptre
They wear
Low the
Crown
sporting
Talismans
Of bell,
cap,
And gown
*
An Age
In Retreat
In fulsome
Defeat –
with God ,
absconded
Fled from
Her Seat –
All are
subverted
The Rout
Is Complete
*
Ethics,
Denuded
Morals,
effete
Though it
slay
so surely –
Ah, the
Hemlock
Is sweet
Take a deep
Swig
It be Evil,
replete
*
The Beast
Is
upon us
No Exits
Withal
In
Spirit
Defiant
Let us
brace for
The Fall
*
Judgment,
dismembered
Reason,
Asleep –
The Path
be
treacherous
The
Abyss
Is deep:
What
They have
foul sown
Alas must
We
reap
*
be vain
To cry
Out –
Look:
Even Lucifers
Weep!
