Today
Grant me but
this
summer’s day
and you can
keap
the age
give me meads
aflame
with light
I will
not
crave a wage
*
Give me
muse
that succors me
I’d
spurn
your gilded purse
were you to
seize my
werewithal
I would not
be
averse
*
Winter’s woes
now barely
fled
will return
soon
some day
I care not
for their
coming dread
if I but
revel
in today
*
If my muse
were jocund
gay
as this
torrid
summer’s day
I would fain
rejoice
and this
meadow
would be
ringing
with
her spirit
and
my voice
