Transience

This, too, shall
Pass?

*

Spirit’s
too
contumely

and all
of flesh
is grass

that many die
for a
few to live

is the
Bane of (hu)Man
alas

*

Evil is
as
Evil does

it’s been
ever so
before

our history
is
none so bright

to make
the spirit
soar

*

Rudely hurled
in a
rabid world

it’s our
human
fate

and as
for
justice

it ever
comes

far far
too late

*

So wait wait
for the
denouement

knowing
this too shall
pass

though spirit
is ever
contumely

and all
of flesh
is grass

*

So when the
heart is
soaring high

seen through
the looking
glass

tone the
spirit’s
contumely

knowing
that this too
shall pass
